Are used Japanese golf clubs worth buying?

Yes. Japan has one of the world's largest golf markets and a strong equipment-maintenance culture, so Japanese golfers turn over clubs frequently and look after them carefully. That puts a lot of high-condition pre-owned gear into circulation — often performing close to new for a fraction of retail. Every club we sell is individually inspected and graded before listing, so the condition is stated plainly rather than taken on trust.

How does Rising Sun Clubs grade used clubs?

Every club is professionally inspected and assigned a plain-English condition grade: Excellent/New, Great, Good, Average, or Poor. Grading covers face wear, sole marks, shaft integrity and grip life. The full criteria are published so there are no surprises when your clubs arrive.

What does JDM mean in golf?

JDM stands for Japanese Domestic Market — clubs made and sold within Japan that were often never released through Australian retail. Because we source directly from Japan, JDM models regularly appear in our inventory alongside mainstream releases from brands like PING, TaylorMade, Titleist, Callaway, Mizuno, Srixon and Honma.

Where does Rising Sun Clubs ship, and what does it cost?

We're based in Adelaide, South Australia, and ship Australia-wide — regularly fulfilling orders across NSW, VIC, QLD, WA, TAS, ACT and NT. Shipping is a $30 flat rate, and free on orders over $600.

Do used golf clubs perform as well as new ones?

A well-maintained used club performs the same as new — the difference is price and cosmetic wear, both of which we state honestly on every listing. For most golfers the gap between new retail and a properly graded used club is hard to justify once you factor in the saving.

Which brands do you stock?

Our range regularly includes PING, TaylorMade, Titleist, Callaway, Mizuno, Srixon, Honma, Miura and Bettinardi, across drivers, fairway woods, mini drivers, iron sets, wedges, hybrids and putters. Stock rotates as new shipments arrive from Japan.

Can I request a specific club you don't have listed?

Yes. If you're after a particular model, you can submit a club sourcing request on the website and we'll look for it on our regular buying trips to Japan.

How do I know a used club isn't fake?

Every club is physically inspected in Adelaide before listing, sourced directly through our own supply channels in Japan rather than bought sight-unseen. This is the main advantage over casual marketplaces like Facebook Marketplace or Gumtree, where clubs are sold untested and ungraded.
